when the wheels touch track they glow like the sun,
fan those flames with heat and desire,
you can run for the water but you can’t kill the fire,
down the track and around the bend,
she’s gone and she won’t be back again,
you can fix your eyes on the distant line,
your ears to the rail but there’s no more time,
You’re a company man, Stan –
with your attaché in your hand,
so uptight you can not breath,
is it any wonder she had to leave?,
hopped this train for the midnight run –
like you jump a dog or you jump a gun,

staring down at the shine on my shoes,
